In honor of Black History Month, AAF SF Bay Area presents the 2025 Amplify Award, celebrating young changemakers who use their creativity to uplift communities in need.

We are awarding up to three $1000 awards to support the next generation of creative leaders who are using their talents to drive meaningful change, foster inclusivity, and shape a brighter future for their communities.

The Legacy of Amplification

For generations, Black visionaries—activists, artists, and innovators—have used their voices and creativity to amplify the needs of their communities. From Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s powerful speeches to Toni Morrison’s storytelling, Angela Davis’s activism, and the innovations of Bay Area icons like Huey P. Newton and Barbara Lee, Black history is built on the power of amplification.

Black advertising and media have played a crucial role in changing the landscape of representation. Black creatives have used storytelling, marketing, and design to challenge stereotypes, reshape narratives, and shine a light on the stories that need to be told. Whether through groundbreaking campaigns or viral digital movements, Black creativity has transformed the way we see the world.

  • Be a U.S. resident or have the legal visa status to accept the scholarship.

  • Be between the ages of 17 and 22 at the time of application.

Eligibility requirements

All applications will be reviewed by the AAF SF Bay Amplify Scholarship Committee, a panel of industry professionals dedicated to fostering the next generation of talent in advertising, communication, and marketing. Entries will be evaluated based on creativity, clarity, and community impact.
